CALGARY, Alberta, Nov. 19, 2019 -- White Water Management Inc. (“Whitewater” or “the Company”), a leading water logistics specialist to the Western Canadian oil & gas industry, today announced it has acquired Catalyst Production Systems Ltd. (“Catalyst”), a completion water treatment and production chemical company. Headquartered in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Catalyst serves oil & gas customers operating in the Western Sedimentary Basin with the provision of specialty production chemicals, pipeline risk management services and bulk methanol sales.
“The addition of Catalyst expands Whitewater’s core completion water transfer service offering with a chemical division that can now address our customers’ water treatment needs as well,” said Rod Stearn, Whitewater’s President and CEO. “Strategically, this transaction further differentiates Whitewater in the water management market, expands our presence in the Grand Prairie market and provides new avenues for growth. Catalyst is also an excellent fit for us from a cultural and reputational perspective. Its superior service model and extensive technical expertise have made Catalyst one of the fastest-growing and most respected providers of production chemical services to the Grande Prairie market.”
The new chemical division will report to Keith Murray, Whitewater’s Vice President, Corporate Development. “We’re delighted to welcome the entire Catalyst team to Whitewater, including founder Travis Dryden, who will lead the chemical division and also hold an equity position in our combined company,” said Keith Murray.
Added Travis Dryden, “Whitewater and Catalyst share a common commitment to being the very best at what we do. By joining forces, we can now offer an expanded platform of complementary services and expertise not only to our customers in the Grande Prairie market, but also across the broader geographical markets that Whitewater serves. This is an exciting opportunity to grow our businesses, while continuing to offer the same service delivery excellence our customers expect.”
The acquisition closed on November 15, 2019. Resource Merchant Capital acted as exclusive advisor to Whitewater on the transaction.
